Weave structure

Weave draft. Dark = warp on top, light = weft on top. Every pattern below emerges from this grid.

Yarn palette (original colorway)

Letters (A, B, C…) are layer names — each yarn stays its own layer in the SVG, so anyone can recolor freely. Add a name and a color code if you want them printed on the spec sheet.

Color library (optional)

You don't need one. Type your codes above and they print. Load a library only if you already keep a list of codes and hex values in a spreadsheet — then empty code boxes get filled in for you.

What the file needs: one color per row, with a code and a hex value. A header row and extra columns are fine.

Nothing ships with the tool. Every code on your spec sheets is your own data.

Warp sequence (vertical threads)

Code + thread count, space-separated. e.g. A4 B4 — the field wraps, and the bar shows every block in order.

Weft sequence (horizontal threads)

Mirror warp into weft (balanced plaid)

Glen check builder

Prince-of-Wales / glenurquhart: a large hound's-tooth band beside a small one in 2/2 twill. Set the two bands and an optional overcheck, then build the warp — weft mirrors automatically.

Colorways

Preview any colorway on the canvas — Colorway 1 is your working palette above, and its Preview button always brings you back. Shuffle rotates which yarn gets which color — the classic spec-sheet trick for finding unexpected winners.
